Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, will inaugurate seven Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) healthcare projects across the country on 14 July 2026, from the ESI Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Sanathnagar, Telangana.
He’ll physically inaugurate the new Outpatient Department (OPD) Block at ESIC Hospital, Sanathnagar, and inaugurate the remaining six projects virtually: the upgraded 200-bed ESIC Hospital in Beltola, Assam; the 100-bed ESIC Hospital in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu; ESIS Hospital in Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh; the ESI Dispensary and Branch Office in Surendranagar, Gujarat; the ESI Dispensary and Branch Office in Udyog Nagar, Kota; and the ESI Dispensary in Bhawani Mandi, Rajasthan. Together, these facilities are worth approximately ₹668 crore and will serve around 53 lakh beneficiaries across the country.
Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, will also be at the event. As part of the programme, Dr. Mandaviya will honour the construction workers who built the OPD Block at ESIC Hospital, Sanathnagar, in recognition of their contribution to nation-building. He will also disburse cash benefits to ESI beneficiaries.
The New OPD Block at ESIC Hospital, Sanathnagar
The new OPD Block at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Sanathnagar, is a landmark facility that will offer modern, comprehensive outpatient services to 12,30,183 Insured Persons and beneficiaries across Telangana, covering the Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar districts.
Built over 43,611.04 square metres at a cost of ₹211.13 crore, the facility houses OPD complexes for General Medicine, ENT, Dentistry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Pulmonology, Paediatrics, General Surgery and AYUSH. It also has departments for Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Radiology and Yoga, along with 180 general beds (spread across three 60-bed wards), 25 ICU beds, 20 NICU beds, medical stores, and a Clinical Lecture Theatre.
This inauguration adds to Telangana’s already extensive ESI healthcare network. The scheme first came to the state in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, back when Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were still one state, with establishments brought under the ESI Act from 30 March 1975. It has since spread to other parts of the region over the years. Today, under the ESIC 2.0 reforms, the scheme covers all 33 districts of Telangana (the state was originally divided into 9), reaching 19,15,700 Insured Persons and 74,32,916 beneficiaries.
ESIC Hospital, Beltola, Assam
The ESIC Hospital in Beltola serves 47 districts across Assam and Meghalaya, plus 41 districts spanning Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. It’s expected to cover 3.42 lakh Insured Persons and about 13.27 lakh beneficiaries in total.
ESIC Hospital, Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu
The 100-bed ESIC Hospital sits in Sriperumbudur, which has grown into one of India’s leading manufacturing and electronics hubs. It will offer OPD, Emergency, Labour Room, Operation Theatre, ICU, IPD, X-Ray and lab pharmacy services, giving more than 5.5 lakh Insured Persons across Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts a convenient place to get medical care.
ESIS Hospital, Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh
The ESIS Hospital in Rajamahendravaram will serve 1,31,190 Insured Persons and about 2,52,717 beneficiaries in total. It comes with 26 dedicated Outpatient Department rooms built to handle high patient volumes, plus three state-of-the-art modular operation theatres among its other facilities.
ESI Dispensary and Branch Office, Surendranagar, Gujarat
Around 9,192 insured persons are currently covered under the ESIC scheme in Surendranagar district. The new ESI Dispensary and Branch Office will let roughly 35,000 beneficiaries access ESIC’s medical care and social security benefits. It’s an integrated facility, offering primary healthcare, medical consultations, essential medicines and other medical benefits all under one roof.
ESI Dispensary and Branch Office, Udyog Nagar, Kota, Rajasthan
This dispensary and branch office will serve the large concentration of insured workers and their dependents who live and work in and around Kota’s industrial belt. It’s set to cover more than 1,500 employers, roughly 75,000 Insured Persons, and their 2,91,000 dependents.
ESI Dispensary, Bhawani Mandi, Rajasthan
This facility has been set up for workers in the industrial cluster of Bhawani Mandi, one of Rajasthan’s major textile centres. It will bring healthcare services to about 800 employers, covering 27,715 insured persons and their roughly 1,07,535 dependents living in the surrounding area.
