The government has rolled out a series of initiatives to grow space technology production and manufacturing in India, leaning on private sector participation, startup support, technology transfer, and stronger research infrastructure. The goal is a self-reliant space ecosystem that can innovate and commercialize at a faster pace than before.

What’s on offer for the industry

A number of policy and financial measures now back the space sector. FDI rules have been loosened to make investment easier. Non-Government Entities (NGEs) get discounted access to ISRO’s facilities, and a ₹1,000 crore Venture Capital Fund has been set up specifically for space startups.
